Latest Updates from Yoga on Tay

We are delighted to have re-opened our studio from Monday 7th September. 


For those of you that wish to come to STUDIO classes we offer as safe an environment as we can in taking the following measures:

  1. Reduced class sizes 

  2. New studio etiquette and enhanced hygiene maintenance

  3. Air purification system

  4. Online Block booking for all studio classes

Like many other studios the time has come for us to change over to having ALL bookings online and operating block payments for studio classes. We all benefit from this commitment as regular attendance allows the teacher to better prepare your classes over the block and for you to subsequently progress more in your practice. 

Priority will be given to block bookings for studio classes,  and drop-in bookings for studio classes will only be available if block bookings are not sold out. Read our new fee structure.

If practising ONLINE via ZOOM suits your circumstances better, we are still offering a selection of online classes both as a block or drop-in, as suits you best. View our new timetable

This term we will have two 7-week blocks:

7th of September to 24th of October


2nd of November to 19th of December

Yoga on Tay is having a teaching break for the month of August to allow for some rest and renewal. There will be no yoga classes during August but we have several home practice sequences available for you. All the Level 1 sequences are suitable for beginners.

All our home practice sequences have accompanying audio from our Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher, Julie Anderson, taking you through the poses. We encourage you to give them a go.

Subject to Scottish Government guidance, we will be announcing our new timetable on Monday 24th August with the Studio re-opening in September. Our new timetable will include a return to live studio classes and will see us continuing with online zoom classes.

12 April 2020: New Home Practice Sequence (no.5) with Audio

Sequence 5 is a longer sequence (1 hour plus), and includes shoulderbalance and a long Savasana.  Enjoy!

5 April 2020 : sequence 4 added with two versions

For Sequence 4 we have made two audio versions - a Gentle version and a Swift version - to allow you to practice according to your needs.  Have a look:

1 April 2020 : Two more Audio Classes added

We have been busy making more audio classes and have uploaded two new audio files:

Level 1 Sequence 2

Level 1 Sequence 3

We suggest you work with each sequence 3-4 times before moving on to the next one, becoming familiar with the sequence so that you will be ready to progress.

We plan to keep making audio files at least once a week and also to offer a small number of weekly 'live' on-line classes, probably using Zoom, after Easter.  We will alert you via our Newsletter of new audios and when on-line classes start. Sign up to the newsletter here: 

27 March 2020 : Yoga in Uncertain Times     -  Home practice resources added to website

As we will be closed for an uncertain amount of time, we are now creating audio files for you to use with the practice sheets, with Julie teaching the sequence in real time.  You will be able to use these sheets and audio files when and wherever it suits you, repeat them as often as you like, or  even download them so you can use them without WiFi.

CORONA Virus update (20 March) 

Last week we found enough hand sanitiser to share with all and this week we have been teaching classes with minimal equipment and minimal adjustments, and cleaning all hard surfaces between classes. 

Many of you, who felt it both safe appropriate, have come to class this week and we appreciate that you could. Just as we understand for others attending a class this week would have been inappropriate.

We are very sad to now have to temporarily close the studio from today for 4 weeks in the first instance, so until at least Friday 17th of April.

We will review this possibly optimistic re-opening date in the week beginning April 13th and will update you here, and on our Facebook page.

Any credits outstanding will now have no expiry date so will be honoured in full when we are able to re-open.
